Hotel in good location, staff were a little rude when i asked for an extra pillow, (like it was to much trouble) two pillows and separate pillow cases vertually thrown at me, check procedures (Credit Card Swiping) not explained correctly. check out very professional. (but then i am a Hotelier)

No hot water in room (5th floor) both evening and following morning. Also difficult to turn down temperature in room - hot room, cold water !!!! No bar - this should be advertised.

The Ambassadors Hotel in London was extremely dirty - we woke up in the early hours of the morning from the smoke alarm, and found a number of woodlice in our bed, as we had been given a basement room. We were moved to a room on a higher floor, which made us wonder why we weren't offered that room in the first place. The rooms in general were shabby and marked, the ceiling in the bathroom of our second room was peeling away above the bath, and the bed sheet was dirty. The service was good, the staff were friendly, although the check in was badly organised. The rooms were of an acceptable size, as we were staying for just 2 nights. Breakfast was ok. After the woodlice in the bed, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Double room that we stayed in was very small, however as we were only travelling light it wasn't too much of a problem. It might be if you were staying in that room for more than a couple of nights

Other than mildew, broken tiles, a flooding shower, no hot water, an out-of-order elevator, no alarm clock in the room, worn carpets, and a hard-as-rock mattress,... well, draw your own conclusions. Hey, it was cheap. You get what you pay for.

It is impossible to take a shower here without getting water all over the bathroom floor, and then slipping in that water when climbing down (yes, really) out of the shower. The room was small and looked like it might have been trendy in the 1970s. The bed was uncomfortable and the bedding was in poor condition. If you can afford to stay somewhere else, do so. You won't regret it.

The hotel picture shown online is not the one for this hotel. It is older than that shown and has very small rooms, tiny showers, etc. Staff is helpful but don't speak English too well. TV didn't work well.

Rooms are like inside cabins on a ship. Receptionists were not pleasant nor very helpful. Could benefit from a TV in the lounge. Telephone service was not good.

This hotel did not set up booking right. There rooms are horrible, the beds were bad, the window wouldn't close all the way so we heard the streets blaze all night, lights and table were broken, elevator barely works and much more. Not a good place to stay, look somewhere else.

Great location to base from. Only 2 blocks from Tube stop with multiple lines. Walking distance to Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History museum, grocery stores, cafes, drug stores, etc. close by. Safe area. Nice neighborhood. Rooms do not all have bathtubs, so request if you want more than a small shower. Rooms are small. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms have had maintenance done, more is needed, tho. Good value for the high-end Kensington location.

I am a great believer in "you get what you pay for" which is why I expected a basic hotel for the price I paid. What I did not expect was the lack of basic manners and a tidy appearance from the staff, particularly the reception staff and a bathroom not caked in mould or rust. Our window was also sporting a huge crack and would not shut properly which would be fine during the height of summer but Guy Fawkes night??? As I was using my car I thought it best to ring ahead to find out about onsite parking. The receptionist informed me there is none and was not aware of anywhere else I could park. After asking to speak to someone who may be a little more informed I was told that I could park in the Holiday Inn hotel near by. Unless you go by the name of Al Fayed with the bank balance to match I would advise against this as you will be charged £30 per day. Unfortunately I was not informed of this beforehand and was charged £7 for driving into the carpark, reading the charges board and driving right back out again. I then had to spend the next hour negotiating ring roads and manic taxis to find a parking space which are mainly permit holders only! Like I said, for the price I paid I did not expect the Hilton but I do expect basic manners, standards of cleanliness and information. Unfortunately this was too much to ask of the Ambassadors.

Quality of room was about what you would expect for how cheap the room was. the place could use a little renovation but it is a passable place to stay. The walls are a little thin but wasn't a big problem. Is only a 5 min. walk to Earls Court tube station. Also there is a sainsburys on the next block which is very handy. overall a good deal.

As walkers of the Thames path we found this hotel cheaper and more comfortable than some of our B&B's along the way. Bedroom was however too warm and we did not seem to have control of this. Cheers Ken McGregor

The stay was according to our expectations. The room was really small, escpesially since we had three beds in it. There were cracked tiles in the bathroom, and the airsupply to the bathroom could have been much better. The sainsbury's nearby was a good way to get nice breakfast.

18. From: Weister Vicki

It was OK for the price (in London) although not up to the standard of American hotels in the same price range. We did have ensuite baths. The bed was barely adequate and gave me a backache, but the linens were clean. They forgot our wakeup call but the alarm clock worked. Great location, though, with grocers, restaurants, Tube & bus, etc. nearby. Don't use their Internet station in the lobby. It was expensive and slow! We booked last minute--in future we would probably try for at least a three star.

The room (001) was damp. There was mould on the walls. There was no hot water for bath or shower, despite reporting the problem on the afternoon of our arrival. there was no-one in authorithy available to get anything done. toilet roll holder was off the wall. We have emailed the hotel direct with our concerns but have not yet received a response.

When we checked in the room (TRPB) on first floor was not acceptable - broken shutters,no shower curtain and the heating system was not working. We had to do with a portable heater that we got from the reception. But the next day they changed our room to a higher floor which was much better! We stayed 3 nights and the Continental Breakfast was serviced well. Value for money!
