The hotel room was comfortable, however, I had a terrible headache after sleeping in there because of the paint fumes. It absolutely reeked, even with the window open it didn't clear the smell.

Bear in mind that whilst the hotel offers parking, it will cost you ?15 a day!

This is an old and long established hotel, and this is reflected in the interior design which takes the guest back to an era of past grandeur. The staff were attentive and my room was maintained to a high standard.

only stayed one night but was a comfortable stay i work as a relief chef within the industry so stay in many hotels and although the Adelphi isnt as grand as it once was it is still a convenient and pleasant stay whilst visiting Liverpool

a real hotel with history and character a real journey back in time, This is liverpool at its best having stayed in the city on many occasions i would now pick this as my first option next time .having been recently renovated its impressive size and decor of the banquet hall in particular is its main difference to other hotels in the area.highly reccomended .A stones throw from lime street and central to the heart of the city.

Although budget priced at ?57 for a single room for one night this reflects the 'tired and worn' state of the fixtures and fitting - which sadly do not match the stunning potential of the famous city centre building itself. The staff were helpful and efficient but they are operating in less than ideal surroundings for a 21st Century facility. The location however is ideal for sightseeing and business.

The hotel is very easy to get to and is in an excellent central location. Although the hotel has seen better days, it is at present being refurbished, and there is a nice sense of history about the hotel. The large art-deco columned room behind the main lounge area is superb. Besr rates through LateRooms.com

I stayed at the Adelphi some some 30 years ago when I remembered having dinner in the restaurant in the grand hall which is now the lounge area. The hotel is still superb in my mind having adapted well to the efficiency and competition from other hotels in the modern era. The comfort and elegance is still way above its current rating of 3 star. The value of its room rates are a real snip because of warmth of reception and its location. I was searching for family history and arriving at Lime Street station from London both the Records Office and the Adelphi are a short walk away. The French restaurant, rightly rated as Liverpool's best kept secret, is superb in terms of service, food and wine and Jenny's self service is also excellent value. I enjoyed my stay especially and I stayed an extra night following the storm on similar terms. I wish the hotel and its staff a long and happy future. RS

This hotel has great character but is showing the effects of time, the rooms being somewhat outdated and some of the equipment provided is in need of replacement. It is central to the city centre and rail station, and easy to get to.

It was easy to get to the hotel, the receptionist was friendly, but gave us a room which had not been cleaned, had to come back and was given another room on the 6th floor. The beds were not very comfortable probably need a refurb. Breakfast was ok, though no fresh fruits which I missed.

The sink in the bathroom blocked each time it was used. The lights were flickering each time the were put on and off. Although the hotel is a really beautiful building and the reception area is very grand. The rest of the place is in dire need of refurbishment especially the rooms and corridors which really are a bit spooky looking. The bathroom was really big but unfortunately the shower was hand held and nowhere to attach to the wall. Also I think the car park should have been complimentary.

The check-in time was 2.30 pm. I and my wife was there at 2.15, but the front desk Indian staff refused to check me in. He then allocated a room at the extreme end (room no. 225) when most of the room near the elevator was empty. This room, I found, was with a faulty security latch and a window that cannot be closed. I demanded a room change...he refused.

Its a old hotel, therefore dont expect a stand-up shower.
