 we really enjoyed our stay! Lovely château. Room & service were excellent. Breakfast was a bit too expensive in relation to other first class hotels

 This hotel offers a unique experience of luxury and comfort at a reasonable price. The corteous and helpful staff is well-trained and provides an exceptional service with a smile. I have deducted one point for location only, because the hotel is somewhat outside the centre of Strasbourg. But if you are looking for peace and quite in delightful surroundings, this is the place to stay!

 This was a lovely hotel with beautiful grounds. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. It was a nice easy stroll into the village where we found a good Italian restaurant and had a nice evening meal outside in the garden. Would definitely stay here on another occasion.

 a big downside was the very poor and incompetend service during breakfast on both day of our stay. Tables not cleaned and (interim) cleared up , no good control over the buffet offer during breakfast time (always something was running short e.g. no cheese, no eggs);apart from that: the offer on the breakfast buffet was not worth the high fee of 22,--€ per person; from the internet pages it was not clear that the rates for the room did not include the fee for the breakfast; we were very pleased with the competence and kindness of all the other personnel, especially with the people from the reception desk and the limousine service which was highly reliable,the drivers appeared very proper and elegant; the location, the park, the view is beautiful, fitness facilities very poor, the location is not easy to find by car;

 Indeed, this is a beautiful hotel and it is located in nice surroundings. However, it is NOT located in Strasbourg. It is located in the small town of Oswalt. Contrary to what is listed in their web page, this hotel is not "4 miles from the rail station" but is closer to 8 miles. The hotel provides no complimentary transportation either from or to the rail station. The cost of taxi to and from Strasbourg is approximately $25 Euro each way. The biggest surprise was in the bill we received for the so called "buffet breakfast" each morning. When we arrived, I asked if breakfast was included in the price of the room. The answer I understood was "yes" and to just show my room key each morning. The "buffet breakfast" was actually a continental breakfast, i.e., pastries, cheese, cold cuts, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee. If you wanted a boiled egg, the guest had to use a machine to boil one's own egg. My wife and I went to breakfast each morning and really ate only a minimal amount of food. My primary interest was in getting a cup of coffee (since no coffee is provided in the room). At checkout, I was dumbfounded to find an extra $96 fee for the morning breakfast ($23 per person per breakfast). Even had I known of the $23 fee, there are few other options in Oswalt for breakfast without walking a couple of kilometers or taking a taxi to Strasbourg. A full breakfast at any of the restaurants in Strasbourg would cost no more than $8 - $10 Euro. For this hotel to charge $23 for a continental breakfast (and sneak the charge into your bill) is outrageous. Also, the shower drain did not work in our room. We did not discover this until the first morning. I never reported it because I did not want the hassle of changing rooms or having workers in our room. However, considering the price of this hotel . . . one would assume that management would have pre-checked such things as shower drain. My wife and I very much enjoyed Strasbourg and we plan to return for a sec
