Mix up over room , allowed someone else access to our room while we were out and reception staff were quite dismissive when we complained. Otherwise, good hotel.

This Hotel is very nice and the location is good if you want to miss the hustle and bustle of the west end, however the service is appaling, we had to wait ages to check in and even longer to check out. They then told us we wern't valid for breakfast when we were. A fried breakfast was an additional 6.80 plus vat.

Bargain break via Late Rooms, although a little out of the City, great view of Tower Bridge. Very quiet. Excellent service. I will be staying here again.

List price is high at circa GBP 250 p/n but through Late Rooms we paid GBP 90 and this represented a bargain. Fabulous hotel, great access to tube and thus west end just 15 minutes away. Don't delay book this great hotel !

Location great and the deal we got was fantastic. However setting aside the room quality, the service is not even 4*. I think it is lack of staff numbers or training. It might be fine for business but for a weekend braek, I do not think so unless you can get a good deal.

The hotel was easy to find and very close to Tower Hill tube. Unfortunately, our room was overlooking the train track, but there was no noise whatsoever. I had booked a double and asked for a nice view, but when we got there, they had given us a twin. Luckily they swapped us to a double straight away.

8. From: L HULL

although the quality of the hotel room itself was good, we weregiven a small room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the train station platform ( presumably as we wern't paying full price ); as a consequence, the tv signal was poor and the picture 'grainy'.

Terrible service, room was poor and looked into a car park. Other room looked onto railway line. I stay around the world in five star hotels and this one certainly doesn't have five star service - examples:

Nice hotel, seemed short staffed on front desk - needs 3/4 only saw 2 Porter to room not offered a bit disappointing for a 5 star.Food VERY expensive. 1 member of front desk was a bit abrasive, manager upgraded our breakfast in consequence, but not acceptable for this standard.

The breakfast wasn't that good - the croissants were chewy and the service was polite although sometimes a little confused: when asked if I wanted coffee - on answering two - I got tea - both mornings!! The leisure facilities were good and the pool and changing rooms were clean. We too stayed in the side not facing the tower of London though were not disturbed at all by the train line running next to the hotel - although we did stay at the weekend. The bar was pleasant if not a little cold. The lager was reasonable at 3 a pint but 5.50 for a gin and tonic is a bit steep. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed was large and a little too hard. The bathroom was small but served its function and the shower had so much pressure it was like getting a massage.

We had a room high up in the tower which had a great view overlooking the river, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge; having gone on a weekend deal and paid a little bit more for a superior we felt like we got a great deal. The hotel was busy with other weekenders and a wedding party that meant check in and check out queues were long, although the facilities didn't feel overburdened (the pool, gym and spa are of good quality and add an extra dimension to your stay). The restaurant was pretty empty and whilst the staff were attentive the food was, at best, average and overpriced; if / when we go back I would / will eat out. The room was a good size with the expected Molton Brown accessories etc, and the turndown service was appreciated. I'm a far from regular stayer in "luxery" hotels, but I feel that the 5* rating is stretching it a bit, 4* would appear more credible. However at 110 for the night we would definitely recommend it to others and would happily go again.
