This hotel had a great location, but overall it is 4 stars not 5.

The service was great. The location could not be beat. The rooms need to be updated, but they were definitely clean.

We were 100 ft from Piccadilly subway station. This hotel is in the best location in London. We went to 4 different shows and able to walk to all of them. We were within walking distance from big been, abbey, Buckingham palace, and fantastic shopping.

The room to which I was upgraded was large and reasonably well-appointed but the chairs and upholstery were badly frayed. There was no place to plug in a computer without removing a lamp, a circumstance which made no impression on the staff when reported. The cleaning was haphazard, omitting to line the bathroom wastebasket with the usual plastic bag or to properly resupply towels or fully make the bed with the bedspread in the daytime position.

The hotel was acceptable in the common areas. This hotel was at best a 3 star location, and this coming from 2 professionals that travel 80% of our time, and have definitely experienced 5 star service and accommodations.

My husband and I stayed at the Le Meridian Piccadilly two years ago for a period of 10 nights. We had a wonderful time. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and luxurious. The hotel staff was just as fabulous. On our second day, we received a tray of fresh fruit and bottled water along with a note from the hotel manager, thanking us for staying at Le Meridian. The Le Meridian chain was acquired by Starwood sometime after our first visit. Our second visit was not quite as special. The room they gave us was sad and shabby. There were stains on the ceiling and wallpaper, the metallic bathroom fixtures had worn down to reveal many layers of colors, and the furniture and linens were threadbare and tatty. This room had not been renovated in at least a decade. The young woman at the front desk did not make eye contact with me when I complained about the quality of the room. I asked to be moved to one of the more recently renovated rooms. She explained that they (the classic rooms) were all like this. She offered to put us in a junior executive room for an additional $40 a day. Buyer beware.

This is a 3-star hotel with 5-star snobbery and a 10-star location. The location, however, is truly amazing. 100 yards away from the tube station and really in the heart of London.

Love the location, the staff, and the spa. Room is decent, but the mattress is bad compared to the Westin Paris in Paris. You know what they say about Westin's heavenly bed. It is truly a heavenly bed.

As soon as I found out which hotel I was booked in, I immediately looked at several sites that had candid photos and reviews of the hotel. What upset me was the bait and switch tactic of this hotel. They show a magnificent room on their site but candid photos show the rooms as a dump. On the day that we checked in, we requested a "renovated room". I guess we encountered just about the only friendly receptionist of our stay- and she did in fact upgrade us to a gorgeous room befitting a 4-star rating and the price that we paid. Let me be clear about this. This is not a 5-star hotel as your web site suggests with respect to the quality of the service/employees, food or rooms. The only thing 5 stars about it were its health club, spa and pool facility and the prices they charged.

We think this is a top quality hotel in the best location possible . Unfortunately we found that smokers are now banned to the 9th floor , where the rooms are much smaller ( they were probably old servants rooms ) and with an elevator that only gost to the 8th floor. Whilst the room are nicely decorated , they are under the roof and the airco was not really adequate at warm weather . I'll tell my wife to quit smoking.

We were especially impressed with an Irish employee called David on the Starwood desk. He is very, very professional, polite and pleasant and gave that personal touch that many big hotels do not have. He is a real credit to the hotel.

Stayed here twice once in a king, once in a standard room it was very clean but very small. Health club and pool are excellent if lacking in recliners. location A+++++ Would stay again but in a king.
