We have stayed at this hotel before and this time was just as memorable as the first. The staff are attentive, polite and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We stayed on the 6th floor and Paul who served us in the libray could not do enough. I have no hesitation in recomending this hotel.

2. From: Elizabeth Millard, United Kingdom
 Date of Stay: February, 2007
We both thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the hotel and found the staff courteous and most helpful. The standard of the accommodation was unquestionably 4.5 * in our opinion and was luxurious and comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay there again or to recommend it to others. Our only negative observation (and a very small one) is that the listing for leek soup in the restaurant is spelled leak (as in drip) Perhaps our being Welsh adds to our sensitivity over the spelling of our national emblem which is course the leek. Seriously, the overall impression was extremely favourable and we fully intend to return to this lovely hotel.

Great friendly staff, nice spacious rooms that are very clean, clean towels every day and the restaurant was superb I would highly commend this hotel

Should have wireless internet in the rooms by now - most competitors have, restaurant closed at 9.45pm which is (perhaps) early for late check ins. However staff were fantastic and helpful.

We just returned from six nights at the MacDonald Holyrood Hotel. We had a great room with a view of Arthur's Seat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I hope some day we are able to return to Edinburgh, and we would not think of staying anywhere else.

6. From: M Penman
 Date of Stay: April, 2007
This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and i returned because i found the service and the staff to be outstanding and found they could not do enough for you. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

7. From: Reviewer has requested to be kept anonymous.
 Date of Stay: April, 2007
Our dinner was truly first class. Regrettably the breakfast was a grease-fest. I just could not eat it. For the 1st time ever I sent food back. The hotel were very apologetic and I honestly believe that our experience is not typical of this establishment. I would recommend the hotel, if only to give people the opportunity to walk a few yards to view the catastrophe that is the Scottish Parliament building - what on earth were the planners thinking about! Totally horrendous. Back to the hotel - possibly the best hotel staff I've ever met!

8. From: M Holak
 Date of Stay: March, 2007
Always find our stays in this hotel to be relaxed and enjoyable. Have been before and will again, Very handy for all we require.

9. From: Victoria MacGillivray
 Date of Stay: March, 2007
The staff were extremely, friendly, professional and accomodating. They allowed us to check in early because we were going to a wedding and upgraded us to a club room.

10. From: Reviewer has requested to be kept anonymous.
 Date of Stay: January, 2007
Hotel was in an excellent location for the centre of town, rooms were spotless and quite high standard staff were very helpful but the only thing that let it down was the hot breakfast it looked like it had been lying on the plate for quite some time .other than that I would recommend this hotel to anyone
