V good hotel in great location; close to city centre but quiet and peaceful itself.

Nice room, excellent food, a pleasant stay. TV reception was good - unusual in hotels in my experience. A few quibbles: a torn duvet cover reported on my first night when I noticed it, was not changed the following day. The room (no.749), though pleasant and comfortable, became very noisy at night due to the running of what i assume was a ventilation system. Hotel diners were forced into a dark cold room for dinner due to the presence of large Christmas party diners. Good service at Reception (though they obviously didn't action the torn duvet cover that I reported on the Friday evening) and for dinner and breakfast. Would stay at the Belford again, just not near Christmas.

My only criticism is that I was charged more by booking through Accomline than the hotel's actual rates. It is meant to be easier and cheaper to book online!
