Wow! After reading all these reviews, I am very put off!! I was just about to book a room but now I am reconsidering. Come on Royal National, get the message your customers are sending- BETTER BREAKFAST AND FRIENDLIER STAFF. The bad reviews arent doing you any favours. I hope I dont regret my booking.

Location wise great. Easy access to West End and public transport. Cant complain about room. Perhaps quality of coffee in room could be better. Would stay again.

Although I read many bad reviews of this hotel after we'd booked it, it was really quite fine!! Staff were helpful and friendly; considering how massive the hotel is, the breakfast was fine and well organised; the room was clean; the location's good. Negatives are: truely awful cups of tea and coffee, only ONE teabag and cup in our double room!, it's a very busy and large hotel...no personal touches here. All in all, considering we paid ?74 a night for the room = a good deal.

Excellent location if you are going to the theatre as it is within very easy walking distance from Russell Square tube station. From there it's only a few stops to Piccadilly Circus or Covent Garden where most of the theatres are.

An enjoyable stay, the rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast was continental and suited me, and you can have an English breakfast if you want to pay the extra. There are 3 places to eat and i found the prices very good with generous helpings. For the price and position i found it to be good value. Would stay there again.

The hotel has a very good location for a very reasonable price. Breakfast is simple: bread and jam, but you can pay more to get an english breakfast. For people who like private or quiet places I would not recommend this hotel, but in that case you probably do not want to go to London anyway :-)

A huge hotel with hordes of tourists arriving at all hours in large coaches. The lobby gives the impression of a busy railway station Very noisy. Basic breakfast menu. Very well connected by tube (Russel Square) with a bus stop nearby connecting to Oxford Citrcus and Marble Arch. Small rooms but clean. Good price through [this website] for a centrally located hotel.

I satyed for business and the availability of Internet only in the lobby was a problem - however the hotel is good, service is friendly, and the combination of price and location is very convenient Not a place to expect comfort in the rooms, rather, a place to sleep and have the basics while being in London.

Since the [other hotel] closed at the begin of the year I get big trouble to find a nice place for a good price in London. The Royal National Hotel is the one for wich i was looking for, and the service is better.

I would prefer hot toast and something that takes down the volume at breakfast. Most be horrible to work in this area day after day. The hotel is more than ok, but just "a bed". For anyone that wants personality this is not the hotel. We have stayed here twice and recomended it to our friends. (internet)price and location is the best.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and it was so warm in the room that we had to have the window open at night, unfortunately it was so noicy outside that we didn?t sleep very well. Besides that we reconsider to come and stay again. Best regards Barbro P.

good central location close to buses and hop on hop off buses Near to laundramats. has the feel of a big hotel with the bar, foyer and shops etc

We experienced a very low rank of service combined with bad quality of the following: - Continental breakfast contains only bread, butter and jam is extremely busy - Room is very small and not vacuumed well; old sheets on the beds and dirty bath curtain - Bathroom is tiny, tiny, tiny - You have to pay for the concierge service to store your suitcase! In other words it feels like a large factory in which service can only be found when finishing a line of at least 20 other people in front of the desks!

The hotel is well situated in the middle of Bloomsbury, which is a very nice neighborhood. It is right on the Russel Square underground station, where you can jump on the Piccadilly line for stations like Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus or go all the way to Heathrow Airport terminals.

The breakfast is the worst in England !! Otherwise I would recommend this hotel.

16. From: Magnus Roos, Sweden
 Date of Stay: December, 2006
A 3 star hotel should not aks for a deposit of GBP 20 for a hairdryer, we did not get enough towels, nor new teabags for the self service, the breakfast was meagre and at the week end there was a very long queue. We also had to pay to leave our luggage at the hotel after check out. All these things were annoying.

The hotel check in time is 2:00pm and the place was packed with guests trying to check in...the front desk staff were efficient and friendly but we had to wait 30 minutes just to check in. The staff in the breakfast room are EXTREMELY RUDE between bites of food they would come over and say "are you finished yet" and attempt to take your tray I sat and watched the staff do this to almost every single customer

The whole 'cattle market' concept at breakfast could be revised? The whole experience of queing with tens of people for a breakfast that was not worth having is quite off-putting. Do try and brown your toast!! There's nothing worse than limp semi-warm and very pale toasted sliced loaf!!
