the hotel is not family friendly, I stayed with my 13yr old son, We watched the football at Anfield. On our return there were no public rooms (bar /lounge) offering any type of refreshment available as my son was not permitted in the bar/restaurant area after 9pm. Surely there must be a way of overcoming this problem and remaining within the licensing legislation.

It will help us ( oversea tourist s) a lot if the hotel can provide earlier check in time.

This hotel couldn't have been in a better location - an easy walk to everywhere in the City centre. The downside was that it was a bit noisy - double glazing would have helped. the staff, room and breakfast were all great. We thought it was a bit expensive, but didn't realise when we booked that it was Grand National week - maybe it's cheaper the rest of the year.

The location was ideal and the decor of the hotel was beautiful but the breakfast was very poor and the service of it was quite low,in the end we stuck to cereal and toast, at least we could help ourselves to that.

Excellent city centre location. The room I stayed in was small and a little dated, probably becuase much of the hotel retains it's original features and style. Downstairs in the bar is a different matter, very modern cocktail bar style, linked with the restaurant serving good food.

Nice hotel but definately needs double glazing because there are pubs and bars (and thus drunk loud people) very close by. The room was a bit small and dark, shower only and no place to put shampoo, shower gel etc. Breakfast was good though and so was the bar

Good hotel in a great location, good breakfast but go down early for the breakfast - it should fininsh at 10am but the waiting staff were a bit grumpy when I went down for it at 9.40.

Lifts didn't work for some of the time and they were understaffed, however, they were helpful and freindly. Good location, beautiful building, just need a few more staff to make it very good. OK for kids but no real facilities.
