The hotel was excellent value for money and the staff were very helpful. I did not find the directions to the hotel to be of much help when we were nearer to it. Some more signs nearer the hotel would be helpful. Given its location more promotional material about Ironbridge and Coalport is necessary. The hotel could also make more of the footpath down to Coalport. It is a delightful walk and accessible for most.

Using the instructions provided we easily found the hotel. Having been advised it was about to have a major refurbishment we were very pleased that there was no disruption and all facilities were still available during our stay and much better than we anticipated. The dining staff were friendly and eager to please but they were clearly over stretched and orders were misplaced or lost. Hotel was clean but in need of the refurbishment, staff were courteous and friendly, and was good to note that all staff seemed to be locals instead of the usual eastern europeans, very good value for the discounted rate we paid.

The dinner was lovely and the restaurant setting overlooking the gorge was fantastic. The hotel is in the midst of being upgraded from a three star to a four star hotel and some areas do look a little tired and are in need of refurbishment. I am confident that once the upgrade is complete the furnishings, decor and appearance will match the location and it will be an excellent venue to relax and unwind.

The hotel was very good value for money, lovely size room with a king size bed, very comfortable. Quick and easy service at breakfast, tasty hot food. Didn't get a chance to use leisure facilities

The hotel was a real disappointment - a potentially beautiful and interesting place let down by poor "service" and very tired rooms that in our case showed distinct signs of heavy wear and tear. The food was good and the poor duty manager ws trying his hardest with a very disinterested staff. The overall impression was of somewhere that could be so good but wasn't.The pool by the way is not availbale for under 16 teens before 9.am again for my kids a let down especially as there was only one person in it.

Having read some disappointing reviews of this hotel on another site we weren't expecting much, but everything was excellent. The leisure facilities were great (the pool is large) and can be used all day before and after check in. There are also lovely walks clearly signposted on footpaths from the front door. This hotel would make an excellent base to explore the beautiful area and is only a few mins drive to a big shopping centre and the amazing Victorian museums - Very good for families with children of any age as well as couples, singles or groups. The room was lovely; very comfortable, clean and quiet with a fantastic view and windows that opened out onto it. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant has amazing views across the gorge. We had an extended checkout time and all the staff went out of their way to be helpful. All for an amazingly cheap rate. The only criticism was the bar area; it's best to go out if you want atmosphere and there are probably no nice pubs within walking distance. The surrounding housing estate has little to offer! There were also public parts of the hotel that could have been cleaner. Apparently there is a major refurbishment propramme due to start in the new year though, so it will no doubt improve. Overall we would recommend this hotel to anyone, epecially if you can get the Late Rooms price which was a fantastic bargain.

This is a beautiful location overlooking the Ironbridge Gorge. The staff try extremely hard and are very dedicated but there have been issues and the menu was mentioned in St Paul's Epistle to the Corinthians. If Golf Clubs are your thing then this is the watering hole for you.
