Breakfast was very good and restaurant staff were very friendly- reception staff on the whole not just as nice. Rooms not to the same standard of decor as the entrance reception but clean and pleasant all the same.

Lovely breakfast, nice room. No lift though, no good if you cant lug your baggage up a few flights of stairs, nobody offered to help either.

The hotel is situated in a very nice area but only a few minutes from the M6. Excellent value for money for single people where you are not paying for a double/twin room for single occupancy. The substantial breakfast certainly prepares you for the day ahead.

The hotel has a notice in the bathroom regarding, hanging the towels up on the rail if you don't require them to be changed on a daily basis in order to reduce the need for washing in order to save the enviornment. However the hotel staff don't seem to be aware of the policy, as I hung my towels up as requested in the notice but the towels were change regardless of my action. I think it is pointless having such a notice if the staff don't abide by it.

A pretty average hotel. The breakfast room is probably its best feature. Watch out if you stay Saturday nights. They do weddings and there can be drunken high-jinks well into the night. The walls are not very sound proof. The bar is Olde English Pub decor which can be quite smokey. It is very near M6 so good for access. Great carvery in next door pub but not many restaurants in locality.

check - in staff needs to smile. The extractor fan in the bathroom was not working, hence lots of condensation. The hotel is lovely, clean, breakfast was fantastic. The staff in the dining area was friendly. Decor of the room is good and the linen white and crips. over all it was a lovely stay

The room we booked (a double) was not available so we were given two smaller single rooms.Very bad service and no sort of apology or discount.

14. From: Nazia Van San, United Kingdom
 Date of Stay: November, 2006
I have rated the service as very bad due to the following: The location is not ideally located for Birmingham, it is approx. 7 miles from the centre and an expensive taxi ride. All 105 guestrooms DO NOT have views of the hotel's landscaped gardens. We could see the roof of the floor below us and a carrier bag full of rubbish. The telephone in our room was out of service. We reported the issue when we arrived and it was not fixed during our stay. On the Saturday evening there was a very loud party taking place at the hotel which made it impossible for us to stay in our rooms and we stayed out until it was over.

had a wonderful stay at the hotel, the staff where very helpful and obliging, we will be staying at the hotel again when we go to birmingham.

only book double room if you want to swing a cat, single rooms very very small ( not worth the 10 saving) and reputation is that you stay once in a single you only ever return to a double (single occupancy) if you want to retain your sanity, however, bathroom still small. Breakfast buffet style and good, went out for dinner so no comment on food in evening. Plenty of car parking and peaceful residential setting. Paid 55 B&B full english.

The hotel was pleasant... double room was of a good size, with good facilties. Breakfast was ok... Overall a comfortable stay. We stayed here for a visit to the theatre in Birmingham... Taxi cost round 14 each way.

Adequate hotel in a residential area of Birmingham. I only ate breakfast there which was very good. The hotel was busy in the evening so I went to the nearby pub for a carvery meal which was good and very good value

nice clean room receptionist busy taking and discussing personal call while booking us in didnt tell us where breakfast was or what times we had to ask, we went to the bar for a drink there was someone smoking in the non smoking area so we left there. when we returned to room it was very noisy both outside noise and very noisy guests.l

Directions to the hotel need to be a bit clearer. It had snowed heavily on prior to our arrival and no-one had bothered to clear
