Excellent leisure facilities, including large pool. In hotel pub with entertainment some nights of the week. Excellent breakfast and evening meals, good value on half board basis with good service even when it was busy. Our stay included a Thursday and Friday evening.

Good Clean hotel, leisure facilities good with wide selection of equipment, pool nice. Usual little things in room, remote did not work, nor did second one but replaced promptly and the usual classic bathroom fan takes 1 hour to turn off, annoying when trying to sleep. But overall very good.

Hotel easy to find, getting in/out town morning and evening terrible because of the traffic. Nice and clean, decent food especially the breakfast. My only gripe was in my room the 'background' noise (air conditioning and /or plumbing) was a bit more than background. Overall would recommend but wouldn't stay in the same room!

I think usual price to stay here is between 79 and 89 per night: we paid 59, and got really good value for money. I think 'Village' hotels cater to a certain type of person: don't come here if you want exclusive, luxury surroundings - it certainly isn't snooty here! Come if you want to have fun. This is an excellent hotel for gym and fitness enthusiasts - probably the best we have stayed in. In particular, the exercise classes were fantastic, with numerous classes to choose from (we went to the hi lo aerobics, and boxercise classes)! Good size pool (approx 20m?), and hot tub. Our room wasn't huge, but it was clean, modern, and very welcoming and comfortable. I enjoyed an enormous hot bath after the exercise classes! Room service is quite pricey (approx 12 for a 10 inch pizza), but the food was delicious. The bed was very comfortable. In the morning, we had a big, tasty breakfast - all the trimmings - this was included in our price (I think breakfast is quite expensive otherwise). All of the staff were very friendly. The fitness staff, in particular, were excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave.

The hotel was lovely and comfortable. Our room was modern and clean. The only problem we found was that our room was near to the function room. There appeared to be a wedding on and the music was on until around 1.30am and was very loud. Appart from this annoyance the hotel was great. The leisure facilities were really good and the breakfast was excellent!

The hotel was very busy when we arrived so took a while to find a parking space but that was only a minor irritation. The hotel was well laid out and very clean - whilst it was busy my son and I heard little noise upstairs. The pool was absolutely gorgeous - its so nice to be able to have a swim before breakfast! Only problem was that because we opted for swim first the muffins and danish' had gone before we got there! No problem though as extensive choice for breakfast. Staff were polite and competent but some could have been a little more friendly. All in all however a very enjoyable stay - would probably stay longer next time and would recommend it.

Stayed at the Village in Leeds on a Friday and Saturday night in February 2007. Hotel was very nice. Clean and with excellent facilities. I would have expected this to have been a 4* rather than a 3*. However, there was a lot of noise throughout the night on the Saturday night. Cars outside picking peaple up etc with music on incredibly loud. The fire alarm also went off in the night at around 2am. On both Saturday and Sunday morning there was banging on most of the doors down the coridor at 7am to wake up a party of teenage guests in the rooms and so it was not possible to sleep any longer than that even if you wanted to! Also people talking in the coridoor late in to the night which again made it impossible to sleep. I did complain about the staff banging on doors so early in the morning but it was the same the next day.

Our stay was the start for a trip to Wharfedale, so great location. Wish I'd taken my swimmers! Excellent room and facilities in a great value hotel. With family living in Leeds, we will definitely stay there again and will recommend it to others with young children.

The hotels shared areas, particularly the lounge area in the evening were not maintained - dirty crockery was around for several hours, including one tray outside a bedroom that was there for our whole stay. Having said that, the room was excellent and spotless and the pool, sauna, gym ets were also very well maintained.

This hotel is great for families, the pool has a kids swim session and the bar and restaurant were both child-friendly. It's in a nice area of Leeds and convenient for local restaurants etc. On the down side it took us over an hour to get to it from Leeds train station by taxi due to terrible traffic and the hotel although clean and with good facilities we found to be lacking in character or style, not so good for couples wanting a nice break together for a special occasion.

We stayed for one Friday night. The friendly receptionist upgraded us to a junior suite, which was spacious and very nice. the only thing they got wrong was no newspaper delivered on Saturday morning. Breakfast was excellent, but the restaurant was a bit under staffed. Those staff who WERE there did a very good job. I will definitely stay again .....
